Wearable
Art. Each gown in my bridal collection is designed around some form
of inspiraion. Some ideas have come from pictures of other gowns,
using these as a basis, then adding design elements of my own. Some,
like the period gowns are inspired from the clothing from their
period in time. The embroidery gowns are inspired from their
color palettes, or from the seasons. Others draw their inspiration
from ideas my brides have had with my added flair.
Each
Bridal Gown is One-of-a-Kind... made to alter to fit anyone in the
range of sizes listed. All alterations are included, even for the
gowns which have been reduced in price. We will be adding more gowns
to our collection as they are completed. This will depend upon the
quantity of custom gowns we are working on at any given
time.
2005
Collection
The following gown is the first
in the 2005 collection and was inspired by all the October Weddings
there are! You Brides love your fall leaves, so I thought it would
be fun to embroider a few on the Bridal gown! This gown is a dark
ivory. It alters to fit sizes 3-10, and may go to a 12 or 14.
Originally priced at $800, but is specially priced at
$500.

WEDDING PLANNING
TIPS!
Gown Preservation:
Simply have it Dry Cleaned immediately! (some
materials may even lend to handwashing, but I have read that the dry
cleaning chemicals aid in the preservation) Cleaning it will get rid
of invisible stains that will show up later. For very serious
preservers, have a bag made of unbleached muslin and cover the
hangers with the same material. But if you have a zipper gown bag,
it will work just as well. The plastic is not going to make any
noticible difference in the aging of the materials. Simply hang it
in your closet. In a bag it is always available for you to take out
and admire. No one else will appreciate your gown as much as you!
Forget the dream of your daughter someday wearing your gown, she
will have her own ideas and want her own gown, as she should!! Just
preserve it for you! For the most part today's synthetic materials
will last forever! You can sew ribbons into the waist and armpits to
keep the wieght off the shoulder seams. Stay away from expensive
gimmicks such as huge sealed storage boxes. They are impossible to
store and you can't take out your gown and try it on or admire
it...you would never get it back in!
BUYING YOUR
GOWN: Bridal
Shops that are individually owned will give you MUCH better service
than chain stores. And the gown designers are carried nation wide,
if you shoild have a bridesmaid who needs to order closer to
her.
Ask if your alterations are included!! Is
the pressing included!! The price may be a little higher if so, but
it will save you time and money in the long run!
Beware of promises that alterations will make the gown fit if it is
way too big or too small for you, unless it is the seamstress who is
making the promises!
Do not be rushed into purchasing your gown. Any shop
that tells you you must have 6 or 8 or more months is just
pressuring you into buying from them. They're afraid to let you walk
out the door for fear you find something elsewhere. Most
manufacturers can send the gown in 12-15 weeks, some even faster. Of
course you do not want to short change yourself, you do need to
allow extra time incase there is a delay, and allow time for the
alterations. Still 4-5 months is still reasonable. Of course,
if you love the gown, you will want to order it immediately, just
incase it gets discontinued!
