We are a Husband and Wife team. Glenn takes the pictures, Laurie does the posing, the video and the back up pictures. We do not farm out weddings to other photographers. What you see is our work and what you can expect from us. The free video was added 8 years ago, because so many of our couples weren't getting a video and we felt they were missing out. Since then the originally simple video coverage has evolved into quite a production, all for free! We have video samples as well as the photos and albums in our studio. We try to keep the picture taking time as carefree and fun as possible. We include a number of fun poses as well as the traditional ones.

Most weddings your picture cd and video will be done and waiting for you when you return from your honeymoon! Your wedding album will be complete 3-6 months after your wedding.

Laurie's Wedding Planning Tips:

Limos: When you book your Limo, keep in mind when your 4 hours run out, your Limo will turn into a pumpkin, just like Cinderella's carriage! Many times couples book their Limos to take them to the church, where precious time is wasted through the whole ceremony and receiving line. Several times we have been in the middle of the picture takng time when the Limo driver interrupts because their time is up, say at 5:00. However the couple has told the photographer that dinner is not until 6:00. The photographer is thinking he has until 5:30 to shoot pictures.

Many Limo services will book another gig immediately following, so the option to buy another hour may not be there. Plan ahead!

Drinking! Try to refrain from opening what the limo's wet bar has to offer until after your pictures are done! A tipsy wedding party adds time to picture taking and sometimes affects the looks of the shots!

Church Rules: Many clergy have their own little rules they may or may not share with you. Many require non flash photography during the service (not a problem for professional photographers). Some may not let ANY pictures taken during the service. They will make you restage your ceremony. This takes more time, or takes away time from your posed pictures, and it is not the same as when it actually is happening. Example, all the shots have to be close, because the pews are empty. Certain photographers who have overstepped their bounds and have been a nuisance during the ceremonies have made the clergy wary of all photographers.

Photography: Photography takes time! You should ask your photographer to help you in setting your times. Pictures are not the only thing that takes time. People often think a 4:00 wedding and a 5:00 reception are reasonable, but remember, your ceremony could be long, your receiving line takes time, you need time to travel... it is not always the photographer's fault if you are late to the reception!

Setting Times: Allowing enough time for your day is very important! You are planning so much for your wedding, give yourself enough time to enjoy it! Here is a quick method I use for our photography customers to determine when we can get them to the reception:

1. Wedding: 1/2 to 1 hour

2. Receiving Line (optional): give yourself another half hour

3. Photos: 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Check with your photographer. Don't rob yourself of time for your photos, they are all you'll have once the day is over!

4. Travel: allow for the time needed to get from the church to where you want your pictures taken, and from there to the hall

Here is a technique we use to help our couples plan their times:

For a 3:00 wedding:

          3:00-3:30 ceremony (1/2 hour service)

           3:30-4:00 receiving line & bubbles

          4:00-4:30 family pictures

4:30-5:30 wedding party and bride & groom pictures

          5:30-6:00 travel to wedding

(you may need to allow travel time to a park if you plan to go very far. getting yourself in and out of the car takes time in that gown and getting all your wedding party rounded up can take a while too!)

Also, when scheduling your hair appointments, do them early! Especially if all the ladies are going to the same place. Alot of photographers schedule some photos of you and your girls before the wedding, so you need to be ready!

Receiving Line: To have one or not? Many couples are opting not to have the receiving line at the church, but to make a point of visiting at every table at the reception after the Bride & Groom have eaten. More guests tend the reception anyhow, and a Receiving Line takes time. If you do have a Receiving line, allow up to a half hour for it. A time saving alternative is to have the Bride & Groom go back down the aisle and release their guests instead of the ushers. This gives them the chance to greet each guest as they leave, but has proven to be a little faster than the standard line.

Reception: Just have something to drink (not alcohol, you don't want the guests drunk before you arrive!) and munchies for your guests to hold them until you get there. As long as they are not starving, they won't mind the wait, and if they do, TOO bad. It is your day and you deserve to do everything you want to do and have the photos to remember it by!

As for the formalities of the reception, get them done early! This frees you up to visit and dance un-interrupted! It also frees up the guests who must leave early, to do so. Usually the older guests do need to leave earlier, and they tend to enjoy the traditional things the most. Also, your single ladies may have other plans, and if they leave there won't BE anyone to catch your bouquet! And if you are doing a money dance and no one is there to dance with, you won't get any money!!

Attention Grooms! Remember, ever since she can remember your Bride has been told the story of Cinderella. Her (and your!) wedding day is her Fairy Tale come true! It's her time to wave the magic wand, wear her dream dress, be the belle of the ball, become a pricess and marry her prince AND live happily ever after! Most men know this and just want the day to be the best for their lady! One of my favorite grooms called me about the wedding photos and had alot of specific questions and requests. He apologized shepishly for the time he took, and said, "Frankly, I don't care about the pictures, I just want to get married. But it is very important to her and I want to make sure everything is right..." And most of the groom's share this attitude, but just incase it has not dawned on you just what the wedding day means to her, this is just a little reminder! Just love her and smile and be patient! After all, you get the girl!

Just for FUN!!!!

Wedding Planning Tips!

It's your special time. Why not make a day of it! Set your wedding for early afternoon, 2:00 or 3:00... it will give you more time to fit everything in! Everything takes time. #1 Your ceremony can be 20 minutes or an hour...Protestant services can last as long as Catholic services if you have a windy clergyman. The receiving line can be as short as 10 minutes or as long as half an hour. You really need to allow some time for your pictures! Even at the reception, dinner will take time. Buffets are faster than sit down dinners. Fall weddings- remmeber it gets dark earlier! If you want those pictures in the fall foliage, figure out what time you can get out there, don't wait til 4:30 or 5:00, and after the time change at the end of October, you may still have fantastic weather, but it will get dark earlier!!
